    vastama: Yes, it should. It is recommended to use a coarse DMT diamond stone to remove edge nicks quickly and then use Shapton stones up to 12000 grit for perfecting. A traditional water stone by King can be used for kitchen knives.

    vastama: Yes, it can be used anytime and does not require a stand. Non-slip mat works as a great alternative to a stand.

    vastama: Try each side with an already polished blade using a lubricant like water or window cleaner. The correct side will become clear, it may take time to discolour the lube with black. Using a 10X loupe will reveal fine scratches once polished.

    vastama: The actual sharpening stone dimensions are 3" wide x 8" long and 3/8" thick.
