Destroyer Format: Vinyl Indie Rock MRG 373 Editorial Review
**Editorial Review of Streethawk: A Seduction** Streethawk: A Seduction, the celebrated album by Daniel Bejar's project, Destroyer, marks a significant point in the timeline of indie rock, blending literary depth with rich musicality. Celebrated for its timeless appeal, the album draws comparisons to the likes of David Bowie during his Hunky Dory days, evoking an era where glam rock and thoughtful pop collided. Listeners have expressed an overwhelming admiration for Bejar’s voice, which, while initially polarizing, reveals nuances and charm upon repeated listens. The strength of the album lies in its songwriting, epitomized in tracks like "The Sublimation Hour" and "The Bad Arts," which are lauded for their clever lyrical twists and emotional weight. Critics have pointed to an unassuming yet powerful instrumental backing, featuring piano and guitar blends that serve to elevate Bejar’s complex narratives. Each song offers a glimpse into the artistic vision Bejar conveys, and listeners appreciate the album's resistant ties to traditional songwriting norms. Fans of the album note that it requires time and attention to fully appreciate its intricacies, rewarding those who invest in deeper listening with layers of meaning. The combination of Bejar's unique vocal delivery, witty and thoughtful lyrics, and a sonorous backdrop has created a work that resonates beyond casual genres. In conclusion, Streethawk: A Seduction is not only a testament to Bejar's artistry but also a highly regarded piece in the indie music landscape, standing out as a quintessential album that artfully intertwines intellect with memorable melodies. **
