The Behringer Rhythm Designer RD-8 Mk2 Analog Drum Machine boasts of powerful sound and faithful reproduction of the Roland TR-808 sound. The machine has individual analog outs for each instrument that provide enough flexibility and sound quality that is subjective but amazing according to one user. The drum machine is easy to use and has a unique workflow that's simpler compared to the learning curve of an MPC. However, the individual outside of the machine is too close to each other and triggers at the same time mess up the amplitude of each other. Also, the clap sound is iffy at low volume. It is important to note that the sounds from the drum machine are not processed; hence, the user may have to use outboard gear or plugins on a computer to achieve the sound they want. Overall, it is a great drum machine that adds a ton of additional functionality to the original TR-808 at a fraction of the price.
