Drama Editorial Review

Oldboy is a gripping tale of revenge, featuring Oh Dae-su, who is kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years without explanation. After being freed, he embarks on a quest for the truth and vengeance, leading to shocking revelations and a blend of brutal emotion and striking beauty. The film is acclaimed for its compelling narrative, superb direction, and a remarkable fight scene presented in one continuous shot. Many viewers found it hard to forget after watching, emphasizing its emotional depth and unique perspective on human nature. While the new 4k transfer shows improved detail and color, minor artifacting was observed in certain scenes, but this did not detract from the film's overall impact.
