Lockey USA Latches & Bolts 2500-SN Editorial Review
The 2500SN Surface Mount Hook Bolt is a lock that is fully mechanical and does not need any batteries or wiring. This lock can be used on both right and left-handed doors and can be mounted above or below the existing door hardware. However, this lock may not fit some door models, and customers need to ensure that they have at least 3" of door width without touching the glass. The installation can require some skills, and the adjustment of the latching part accessory is not easy. The product comes with instructions, but some customers have found them inadequate, especially for changing the lock's code. Despite the challenges with the installation, the lock's quality is excellent, durable and heavy-duty. The ability to set a 4-digit or 6-digit combination provides good security options. Customers have testified that the lock has worked well on various sliding door models and is a significant upgrade from traditional sliding door locks. Some have also noted the aesthetic design, which leaves the hook exposed when the lock is in an unlocked state. One customer shared how this lock had been a lifesaver for their parents, who had been unable to lock their sliding door from the outside for 30 years. Although installing the lock took four hours, it finally delivered excellent results and made the customers' parents happy.
